1. Introduction:

“Good morning/evening Sir/Madam,
This is (Yogesh) here; this is a call from Dr. Monga Clinic. Am I speaking to Mr. (Vinay)?

“Can I have a few minutes of your time?”

“Is this a good time to talk?”

If patient says yes: Then ask,

(Examples):

“Mr (Vinay) are you following the instruction as doctor had adviced you?”

“Mr (Vinay) are you doing your exercises and taking your medicine regularly on time?”

“Would you require any kind of help in your exercise and activities to understand?”

Or, If patient says No: Then ask,

(Examples):

“So, what is the best time to talk to you Mr (Vinay)?”

“When can I call you again Mr Vinay?”

If patient required any help or information then provide them.

2. Relationship Building

Take the time to ask the patient his or her opinion about the treatment and try to solve their concern if they still had some issue and convince for revisit.

3. Boost confidence of the patient

Example: –

“I think if you and we work together then you will be fine in no time.”

“Your problem is very much treatable.  Just follow what the doctor prescribes.  You will get well very soon.”

“I’m sure that this is the appropriate course of action prescribed by our doctors for your problem. Do you have any questions?”

“Please do not miss your next appointment with the doctor. When is your appointment?

“Please be assured that our weekly follow up phone calls will help both of us stay Informed about your health issue, and you will recover very fast, this way.”

4. End the conversation on a positive note

Let the patient know that you will remain in contact through a mode of communication that is ideal for the patient.

Always remember to keep the door open and establish your timeline for follow-up with the patient.

Example: –

“Thank you so much for your open communication and your time.  I think if we continue your treatment, you can fully recover in few days. If there is ever anything you need or any concerns you have, please don’t hesitate to contact me. My name is [….]

Thank you for talking to me.

Take care.”
