What is Hepatic Hemangioma?
Hepatic hemangioma is a type of tumor that can form in the liver. It is actually the most common type of benign (non-cancerous) liver tumor, which means that it is not cancer and usually does not spread to other parts of the body.
Hepatic hemangiomas are made up of blood vessels that have grown abnormally. They can range in size from very small to very large, and sometimes people may have more than one hemangioma in their liver.
Most people who have a hepatic hemangioma do not experience any symptoms or health problems related to it. However, in some cases, larger hemangiomas may cause pain or discomfort in the abdomen, or affect the function of the liver if they grow too large.
The good news is that hepatic hemangiomas do not usually require treatment, and many people with this condition can live normal, healthy lives. However, in rare cases where a hemangioma is causing significant symptoms or affecting the function of the liver, surgery or other medical treatments may be recommended by a doctor.
If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with hepatic hemangioma, it is important to talk with a doctor to learn more about the specific situation and any recommended treatments.
