What is human rabies? Can rabies be cured in humans? Do we treat it in its primary stage?
Rabies
@anoop Human rabies is a viral disease caused by the rabies virus. It’s primarily transmitted through the bite or scratch of an infected animal, most commonly dogs. Once symptoms appear, it’s almost always fatal.
Rabies can be prevented if a person receives post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), which includes rabies vaccinations and sometimes rabies immune globulin. However, once the symptoms of rabies appear, it’s nearly always fatal. There is no known cure for rabies in humans once the virus reaches the central nervous system. Early intervention with PEP is crucial to prevent the virus from progressing to a symptomatic stage.
@abhishek Do we treat it in its primary stage?
@anoop We Don’t treat rabies fatal viral infection Because Rabies is a serious and potentially fatal viral infection. While some traditional medicinal systems, including Ayurveda, may offer treatments for various ailments, there is no proven Ayurvedic cure for rabies. Rabies is a medical emergency, and the most effective way to prevent it is through post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), which includes rabies vaccinations and sometimes rabies immune globulin. It’s essential to seek immediate medical attention if someone has been bitten or scratched by an animal potentially carrying the rabies virus. Traditional or alternative treatments are not a substitute for standard medical care in the case of rabies exposure.
